Caverns of Shennog (Tales of Argosa)
Today something different! Not a review but a note about a game i participated in. A while back I joined Eric's RPG Discord to participate in his "Once upon a game" series and managed to land a spot in a Tales of Argosa one-shot. The series is essentially a group of experienced players and GMs coming together to kick the tires on as many game-systems as possible and see what we can learn from them. I first skimmed the pdf, got really inspired and proceeded to print this monstrum out and study it more closely. I created an annoying aristocrat as a character and went in blindly. The game (and people) were great, and I learned that technology does actually matter at some point and that AirPods are just not good enough in terms of audio quality as a microphone for a podcast setup. I think we owe it to our fellow online players to get nicer microphones for games that are essentially about vocal communication. A little will go a long way in improving your online play experience.
